Smart Parking is a mobile application allowing reservation, payment, sharing of parking spaces and navigation to your parked car. The application communicates with three parking systems in three different countries using an API and is part of the HB Reavis More App applications package, in the development of which SCR technologies participated.
To create an iOS/Android client application enabling communication with three parking systems in three different countries using an API. Depending on the user rights level, it should allow reserving a parking space and pay for the elapsed parking time upon departure. The apps will be part of the HB Reavis More app package.
The challenge was to solve the connection of the application to the API of parking systems so that the individual functionalities of the application are compatible with different parking systems.
The core of the application is a parking menu showing the availability of parking spaces, where the logged-in user can:
- see the parking location with the number of currently available spaces,
- pay for parking by entering the number of the parking ticket or license plate,
- book a place, which he confirms by paying.
The tenant user has a special account in the parking system, either as a tenant of premises with an assigned specific parking space or with a shared parking space for multiple users. Using the application:
- a user with an allocated parking space can release space without his or her presence,
- a user with a shared parking space can enter a draw for a place allocation
- or release the allocated space without his or her presence.
The validator user has a special account in the parking system with an authorization to validate tickets without the need for payment. It can be validated:
- XY% of the outstanding amount,
- XY hours,
- the absolute value of the outstanding amount.
In complex parking spaces it is easy to lose your orientation. The application offers therefore users the option to navigate to your parked vehicle. In cooperation with the cameras of the parking system, we know the parking space of each vehicle.
In the application, the user selects the place of his or her location, and the application shows a map of the parking lot with the location and with the position of the vehicle.
Through the cooperation of parking systems, their administration and integration with the Smart Parking application, we have created a comprehensive system allowing reservation, payment, sharing of parking spaces and navigation to a parked car in three different locations using different parking systems, which guarantees the maximum user comfort.
